Nationals or citizens from countries listed in the ninth and eleventh schedules of the Passport Regulations must apply for and obtain a wedding visa before travelling to Mauritius to marry a Mauritian citizen.
Wedding Visa for Mauritius: Documents Required for Male Applicants:
- Application form to enter Mauritius: Completed and signed by the applicant.
- Letter of Intention: A letter from the applicant stating:
- Occupation and earnings to demonstrate financial support for the spouse.
- Lodging and accommodation arrangements.
- Family background.
- Details on how and for how long the applicant has known the future spouse.
- Photographs: Two recent passport-sized photos of the applicant.
- Birth Certificate: The applicant’s full birth certificate.
- Certificate of Character: Casier Judiciaire or Certificate of Previous Convictions showing the applicant’s names and forenames.
- Return Ticket: Copy of a valid return ticket (if applicable).
- Passport: Photocopy of the passport’s data pages.
- Confirmation Letter: From the Mauritian citizen confirming the intent to marry and accepting responsibilities.
- Mauritian Spouse’s Documents: Birth certificate and National Identity Card of the Mauritian citizen.
- Divorce Decree: If applicable, the divorce decree of both parties.
- Death Certificate: If applicable, a death certificate of a previous spouse.
- Financial Proof: Evidence of economic means, showing at least USD 50 per day for the foreign applicant.

- Financial Proof: Evidence of financial means from the Mauritian citizen, showing a minimum of Rs 45,000 for one month.
