Family Occupation Permit
The Family Occupation Permit is provided under section 14 of the Immigration Act 2022 and section 13(1)(b) of the Economic Development Board Act 2017. This permit allows an applicant, along with their spouse, dependent children, parents, and any other dependents or individuals working exclusively for the family unit, to become residents of Mauritius for 10 years.
Under this permit, the applicant and their spouse can work or invest in Mauritius. Furthermore, individuals employed by the family unit can, with the approval of the Director-General of Immigration, take up employment to cater to the family’s needs.

Deregistration Process
Suppose the principal applicant decides to terminate their Family Occupation Permit or for any family member or individual employed by the family. In that case, they must immediately inform the Chief Executive Officer of the Economic Development Board (EDB) in writing for deregistration.
Upon deregistration, the individuals concerned must leave the country within three months or a specified reasonable period.
How to Apply for Residency?
The completed application form and the relevant documents specified in the checklist must be submitted to the Economic Development Board (EDB) via email at op@edbmauritius.org.
