Ile aux Aigrettes
Île aux Aigrettes is a small islet located off the southeast coast of Mauritius, encircled by a coral reef and blanketed by an ebony forest.
Designated as a nature reserve in 1965, the island has since become a sanctuary for rare species that had once vanished from its shores, thanks to dedicated conservation efforts.
Visitors can take a guided tour to explore the island’s unique wildlife, including rare plants, reptiles, tortoises, and a variety of beautiful birds such as the pink pigeon, Mauritius fody, and Mauritius olive white-eye.
